What is included

The transfer from Panama City to Colón and the boat to the catamaran (USD 200 per person, required for the operation), the Guna Yala entry tax (USD 20 per person, in cash), the VIP Plan, Nespresso and optional activities.

Boarding and sailing
We pick you up in Panama City (hotel or airport), drive you by road to Colón (about 2 hours) and, from the boarding dock, a boat takes you to Margarita, where we are waiting for you on board.
At the end of the trip we bring you back the same way. The transfer costs USD 200 per person and is required for the operation.
No. Sailing is flexible by design: we choose the destination day by day according to the weather and the group's preferences.
No. Each departure is a single option: you can book Margarita exclusively for your group or choose a private cabin on a cabin departure. The two options are never mixed.
On Margarita you live the sea traveling light: few clothes, bare feet, and everything else is already on board. This is what we recommend you bring.
Luggage
- A soft bag or backpack, not a hard suitcase. Storage space in the cabins is limited: a soft bag fits, a hard suitcase does not.
- Traveling on afterwards? If you have a large suitcase for the rest of your trip, leave it at your hotel in Panama City and come aboard with only what you need. The transfer leaves from there and takes you by road to Colón (about 2 hours), and from there a boat brings you to Margarita.
- A small dry bag for your phone, documents and camera. On the boat from Colón to the catamaran, on dinghy rides and when landing on the islands, everything can get wet.
Clothing
- Few clothes. It is hot all day: you will be in a swimsuit or rash guard almost all the time. 2 or 3 swimsuits and a couple of light, quick-dry changes of clothes are enough.
- Sun-protective clothing: a light long-sleeved shirt or a UV rash guard for the hours of strong sun and for snorkeling.
- Something warm to sleep in. The cabins have air conditioning and it gets cold inside at night: bring a light sweater or jacket and warm pajamas.
- A garment that covers your shoulders for visiting Guna communities: the culture is conservative and the villages are not visited in swimwear.
Footwear
- Sandals or Crocs-style shoes. On board you go barefoot or in sandals; for going ashore, shoes that can get wet. You do not need closed shoes.
Sun protection and repellent
- Biodegradable (reef-safe), oil-free SPF 50 sunscreen. It protects the reef and does not stain the boat's deck or cushions. Reapply every two hours when you are in the water.
- Cap or hat, sunglasses and SPF lip balm. The sun in San Blas reflects off the water and burns more than it seems.
- Insect repellent. On some islands there are sand flies at sunrise and sunset.
Documents and money
- Original passport. The Guna authorities ask for it when collecting the entry tax to the territory, and you need it throughout the trip.
- Cash in US dollars, in small bills. For the Guna Yala entry tax (USD 20 per person, paid in cash) and to buy molas, handicrafts or a coconut on the islands. There are no ATMs in the archipelago and cards are not accepted.
Health
- Your personal medication.
- Seasickness pills, if you are prone to it. Take them before setting sail, not when you already feel unwell.
What you do not need to bring (it is already on board)
- Towels and bed linen.
- Snorkeling, SNUBA, Stand Up Paddle and kayak gear.
- Unlimited water (bring your reusable bottle if you like).
- Internet: there is Starlink satellite internet on board.
- 110V and 220V outlets: just bring your chargers.
